Professional Development Coordinator By-Election:

UPDATE - February 7 2012

At this time the electoral committee is pleased to announce that Narek Nalbandyan will be your new Professional Development Coordinator!

Due to resignation of the current PDC a by-election was called and nominations opened January 21st, 2012. At the close of nominations (4:30pm February 5th, 2012) the elections committee had received only one nominations and as such the candidate Narek Nalbandyan has been duly elected as professional development by acclamation as per the elections bylaws section XI.10.C. A separate formal report will be prepared for the next council meeting.

We would also like to note that information on the upcoming officer elections will be announced within the coming week.

At this time the position is open to both general members and Councillors. However, due to GSS By-laws and the current composition of the Executive Committee, priority will be given to general members. More information on this can be found in the by-election procedures (see below). Voting will be open only to GSS Council members (see procedures below for more details).

Professional Development Coordinator Position Description

This is a paid elected position!

Minimum 20-hours per month

Term of position: February 2012 - Dec 31, 2012

$400/month

Your worked hours are somewhat flexible, however, most GSS and University meetings occur during weekdays during normal business hours. Some evening and weekend events are also inevitable. The GSS is based out of its Burnaby Campus office, and regular presence at the GSS is an important aspect of these positions.
